Consultation for Therapists: Personalized, Authentically Strategic, and Tailored

With The Goal of Growing You as a Therapist, Business Owner, and Expert

Therapy Consultation LCSWExperienced Individualized Consultation

Therapists come to consultation for different reasons. Sometimes it’s to get unstuck, sometimes to grow, and sometimes to feel less alone in the work. I offer consultation that is personalized, grounded, curious, practical, innovative, and specific to you and your practice. My consultation for therapists is designed to be all of this; personal, practical, and truly aligned with your work. My approach is based off of our conversations and is far from prescriptive. I help you find what’s already working and build from there: refining your systems, communication, and confidence without turning you into someone else’s version of success. I don’t try to rebrand or recreate you. I help you grow into the best version of what you already provide.

What Makes This Consultation Different

Over the years of building and leading my own practice, I’ve learned what helps therapists grow without losing their authenticity. I’ve shared some of that journey in Authority Magazine’s feature, “5 Things You Need to Know to Create a Highly Successful Private Practice” that you can read in full here.

The lessons I teach in consultation come from my own decades of lived experience. I figured out what worked, what didn’t, and what’s sustainable.

I understand the real-world balance of being a clinician, business owner, supervisor, and human. My process is not theoretical. It’s grounded in experience and what it actually takes to maintain a thriving, ethical, and fulfilling practice over time.

What Consultation for Therapists Looks Like

Each consultation is customized. This is a space where you’re seen, heard, and connected to someone who understands the work you do. We focus on your strengths, your clients, and your voice. Together, we identify what makes your practice uniquely yours, and how to grow that, not replace it.

Some of what we might explore includes:

  • Building confidence in your clinical voice and decisions
  • Managing boundaries and burnout while staying available and effective
  • Clarifying values and direction (and triggers and transference/countertransference and insecurities) when the work feels heavy or uncertain
  • Understanding business systems that support sustainability without losing heart
  • Growing your reputation and referral base through genuine relationships
  • Integrating your clinical identity with authentic business growth — finding ways to market and expand your practice that feel true to you

Whether you want a single meeting or ongoing support, consultation for therapists can be tailored to clinical questions, practice growth, or both.

Consultation can be a one-time meeting, a short-term process, or an ongoing mentorship. Some therapists come for a few sessions around specific questions. Others meet regularly to stay accountable and keep growing.

Why Therapists Reach Out for Consultation

Therapists reach out because they want their work to feel more aligned- clinically, emotionally, and practically. I support them in navigating ethical issues, new practice models, growing their practice, or shifts in client needs. Many of the therapists I meet rediscover their motivation and clarity. They leave with more agency over their choices and renewed energy for the work they love. I’ve written about (and have been quoted in)- and lived- what it means to practice agency and trust yourself in this profession.

Over time, I’ve built and grown my own practice not by following trends, curriculum, or outsourcing my voice, but by understanding what works for me and my clients. I do all of my own marketing and know how to connect authentically without losing the human (in this case, “Lynn”) element.

My approach to consultation for therapists centers your voice, values, and the realities of private practice.

That’s the kind of guidance I offer in consultation. I help therapists discover what makes their work stand out- not by rebranding or recreating them, but by helping them articulate and expand what they already do best. Whether your growth comes through refining your message, clarifying your systems, or reconnecting with the purpose that drew you to this field, we tailor every step to fit your style, strengths, and values.

Consultation helps you find what’s getting in the way, clarify your direction, and feel capable again, personally and professionally. Consultation with me can focus on sharpening your clinical work or on building your practice in a way that feels like you — or a mix of both, depending on what you need right now.

This is a space where you’re seen, heard, and supported-

without asking you to become someone else’s version of success.
