Connecting in 2025
It’s 2025.
What is different?
What is the same?
What are you determined to change? As the NYT told me, taking the time to think about what you want to do and who you want to be is the hardest part.
Try this for a quickie: Expand your vocabulary. How you talk to yourself and others can affect your lived experiences. Don’t say you are doing well and that things are good. Your vocabulary can include words like elated, exhilarated, inspired, delighted, thrilled, gleeful, tranquil, serene, joyful…
For some more thought and intentionality, consider a self-audit.
If you know me at all, you know that self-reflection is something I strongly feel is a requirement for people.
Let’s do that now, as we intentionally enter 2025.(If you really want to deep-dive into this idea, you can follow the protocol In this Medium article.)
Or if you want the accountability, we can do it together and I can help you get to the answers that are authentically you.
Some suggestions are asking yourself:
What is stressful for me?
What makes me feel more calm and happy? What do I miss doing? What do I enjoy outside of work? What do I need? (Maslow- see image)
What do I want to focus on? (for help, choose your word of the year- see image)
What are your values (I can help you choose your top three- ask me how!) and how can these values help guide you better or differently?
What do you want to focus on this year?
How will you do this?
This article told us the 10 Ways to Support your Mental Health is 2024 and this one told you the Seven Ways to live Longer. Where are you still following short? How can David, Ellen and I help you compassionately, joyfully and successfully live your 2025 (call, Email or Text me!)? (You all help us in so many of these ways too).
Take care of yourself this new year… honestly… you take care of so many others. Take care of you too. Wishing all of you (and the world) a year of love, gratitude, health, joy and peace.
Lynn
I am sorry for so many emails! Ill write only once more soon with the list of books I pulled out of my bookcase in 2024. After that, I'll try to leave your inbox alone for a bit!
I did a few videos on parenting this month. If you missed them, you can find them here and here.
